MBERENGWA- Priviledge Mheremhere (24) of Izaya Park in Zvishavane has been remanded in custody by Mberengwa Magistrate Charity Tonongera for dealing in dangerous drugs. Mheremhere appeared in court last week on Friday and she was remanded to March 27, 2023.
Mheremhere was arrested at Vanguard compound in Mberengwa where she owns a tuck shop after the police received a tip off that she deals in dangerous drugs. She was found in her tuck shop with six people inside, five males and one female who all escaped when the police pounced on them.
Prosecutor, Ali Mutause told the court that on February 1, 2023 police officers were on patrol at Vanguard compound when they approached the accused at her tuck shop.
Mheremhere refused to open the door and as the police were checking through the window the other six culprits managed to bolt out.
The police discovered that Mheremhere was using broken bulbs to heat the crystal meth drug which they would sniff.
A pack of the drug was found in the tuck shop which weighed 0.001kg and the apparatus used to prepare the drug were seized.
