GWERU- Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) side, Greenfuel FC said they are working towards boosting their squad during this winter transfer widow despite a dearth in players on the market.
Greenfuel FC coach. Rodwell Dhlakama told The Midweek Watch in an interview reflecting on his team’s performance after losing 2-0 to CAPS United on Saturday at Bata Stadium in Gweru.
“We are in the transfer season and we are going to try and see to it that we boost our squad as well so that we improve our performance.
“The challenge with this winter transfer is that, most players will still be tied to their contracts and it’s difficult to find those who are willing to move. We are going to convince our management to do 1 or 2 add ups.
“Our game against Caps was not that bad, we played well, but our opponents had a better strategy, they were resilient and had a better game plan. We suffered much in the second half as we couldn’t defend but we played well.” he added.
Caps United Coach, Lloyd Chitembwe said collecting maximum points against Greenfuel came as big relief to the Green Machine who have been having a poor run.
“Our play today, considering where we were sitting on the log is reflection of unity. We expected to maximize on our opponents’ weaknesses because that’s how we conduct our business as a club.
“The win is for the fans as they deserve it” Chitembwe.
