Zimbabweans in the UK are gearing up for a spectacular show of support as the Zimbabwe national cricket team, the Chevrons, face England in a historic 4 day Test match at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge from 22 to 25 May.

The much anticipated encounter marks the first time in 25 years that the two teams meet in a Test match an occasion that promises to deliver thrilling cricket and unforgettable scenes in the stands.
Excitement is mounting across the Zimbabwean community, with mobilisation groups reporting high morale and a powerful spirit of unity. The atmosphere surrounding the fixture is electric, and England may well need ear defenders with the noise and colour Zimbabwean fans are preparing to unleash.
Supporters from all corners of the UK are expected to travel to Nottingham, with many securing seats in the Radcliffe Road East Gate stand fast becoming the heartbeat of the Zimbabwean fan zone. While fans will be present throughout the three days, Friday and Saturday are tipped to draw the largest crowds.
The stadium is expected to be a sea of green, yellow, red, white, and black, as fans don Zimbabwean T-shirts, flags, scarves, and hats in a proud display of national pride. Organisers are encouraging every supporter to wear their colours boldly and ensure the Chevrons feel the energy and support from the stands.
Vivian Banhire, Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket Supporters Union, is among the key figures leading the UK mobilisation effort. He is actively motivating and encouraging fans to get behind the team and provide the morale boost the Chevrons need on this historic occasion.
In a further show of solidarity, during the Zimbabwe Independence Day celebration held at the Zimbabwean Embassy in London on Friday, 25 April 2025, the Zimbabwean Ambassador also voiced strong support for the Chevrons. In his speech, he called on all Zimbabwean citizens in the UK to rally behind the team and show national pride as they take on England in this landmark match.
