The Sugar Boys have turned their season around in dramatic fashion, shifting from relegation strugglers to genuine contenders for silverware in the Chibuku Super Cup.

At the start of the season, the Lowveld side looked destined for the unfashionable division one, with poor form placing them in the relegation zone. However, the arrival of coach Genesis Mangombe has injected fresh belief into the team. His tactical discipline and motivational leadership have helped Triangle improve their performance, slowly climbing up the league table.

While their league survival battle is still ongoing, the Sugar Boys have found inspiration in the Chibuku Super Cup. Triangle have fought their way into the semi-finals, sparking excitement among their loyal fans who had feared the worst just a few months ago.

The Sugar Boys meet MWOS FC on October 25 at Ngoni Stadium in Norton with the other semi final between holders Dynamos FC and perennial rivals Highlanders FC at Rufaro Stadium.

Winning the Cup would not only bring silverware to the Lowveld but also secure Triangle United a place in continental football, a remarkable turnaround for a club that began the season facing relegation.

From Gibbo Stadium to the wider Lowveld community, optimism is growing. Supporters believe the team has what it takes to go all the way and write one of the most inspiring underdog stories in Zimbabwean football.

With just one leg away from the final, Triangle United now have their sights firmly set on the 2025 Chibuku Super Cup trophy.
