Chimanimani – A tragic incident occurred at Matiashe Village in Chimanimani on November 27, 2024, resulting in the death of a 6-year-old girl.
According to a statement posted on their X handle, the Police reported that the young girl died after being scalded by hot water.
“The ZRP reports a sad incident which occurred at Matiashe Village, Chimanimani on 37 November 2024 where a 6-year-old juvenile died after being scalded by hot water,” the police tweeted.
The incident occurred when the young girl allegedly bumped into her grandmother, who was carrying a bucket of hot water. The girl fell to the ground, causing the hot water to spill all over her body. She sustained severe burns on her head, stomach, and back, reads the statement.
The victim was rushed to Birchenough Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on November 28, 2024, while receiving treatment.
