MASVINGO-Arguably the best non boarding school in Masvingo Province, Ndarama High is once again among the top performers as testified by ZIMSEC 2023 A Level results.
True to its motto, ‘To Beat Our Previous Best’, the school attained quality results and had 94.1% of its learners passing.
The school had 158 learners sitting for their 2023 A level examinations and amongst them only one candidate failed to pass at least two subjects.
Altogether learners who obtained 15 points and above are 23 whilst those with 10 points and above are also 29.
Six learners had 20 points, on 19 and 18 had 2 each, 17 points there were 4, 16 points there were 2 and 7 learners had 15 points in line with the school’s emphasis on quality.
In their respective classes, Ndarama recorded 31 learners who obtained eight points and above in science subjects.
In commercial subjects 29 learners obtained 10 points and above while in arts subjects a total of 50 learners attained 10 points and above.
The school head, Oddy Matongo was upbeat over the school’s performance and said it was not easy for the school to have scored such results amid challenges that the school faced in the 2023 academic year.
“Our main emphasis is on quality than quantity and a random survey of our results confirms that. For example, we had 49 candidates who sat for Geography and 26 of them obtained had As, with the remainder on B and C, meaning all of them passed.
“The same trend is maintained in History, Sports Science, Statistics, FRS, Chemistry, Sociology Computing Biology, Shona and English Literature, buttressing our thrust on quality rather than quantity,” said Matongo who was literally bragging about the excellent results.
He added that the school will strive to continue surpassing its previous records.
“The children did well and we are grateful to our teaching staff who did exceptionally well under very difficult circumstances.
“Our staff is dedicated to ensure we provide quality education and the school is grateful for their efforts, it is our mission to continue excelling and as a team we shall strive to achieve that.
‘The students did well they concentrated on their studies and did as they were taught,” he said
