MASVINGO – Thousands of Zanu PF supporters in Chivi North Constituency braved the chilly weather to attend Vice President Rtd General Constantino Chiwenga campaign rally at Chigapa Primary School.
Chiwenga is on a whirlwind tour of the country where he garnering support for President Mnangagwa, MPs and Councillors for the August 23 elections.
Yesterday’s rally was organised by Chivi Rural District Council Chairman who is also the Zanu PF candidate for Chivi North, Godfrey Huruva Mukungunugwa.
VP Chiwenga promised the thousands of exuberant supporters that the Zanu PF Government will continue to support villagers with the pass on livestock (goats, sheep and chicken) scheme so as to improve the livelihoods of every person in the country.
“We are going to continue distributing livestock in all areas in Zimbabwe and especially in this region which is prone to frequent drought. We are going to be capacitating each and every family with goats, sheep and chicken so that it improves their livelihood like what we did back in the days”, said Chiwenga.
“As the Ministry of Health and Child Care we are going to provide an ambulances at the local clinics and equipment that is needed at the respective clinics so that we improve the health standards in our country”.
He went on to encourage all the registered voters to rally behind President Mnangagwa, MPs and councilors in their constituency so that they continue with the projects that were started by the ruling Zanu PF government in the past few years to achieve the vision 2030.
VP Chiwenga also denounced drugs and substance abuse that has become so rampant in the country and encouraged the youth to engage in income generating projects as part of fighting the scourge.
The Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution and also the MP for Masvingo West Constituency, Ezra Chadzamira applauded the ruling party for initiating projects in the province that have seen women and youths getting employed and empowered.
“As a Province we are very grateful for what the President has done for us by starting empowerment projects that have seen a lot of youths and women getting employed and there are many projects that are still in progress and we hope to finish them soon,” said Chadzamira.
Zanu PF Masvingo provincial chairperson, Rabson Mavhenyengwa assured VP Chiwenga that Zanu PF will make a clean sweep of all the wards and constituencies in the Province.
“We are promising you as the province that we are going to win all the constituencies and wards across the province and especially the urban set ups as we have implemented a lot of strategies on how to mobilize people to vote for us like working hand in hand with the traditional leaders and also doing polling station based campaign whereby we visit these polling stations and check our registered voters,” said Mavhenyengwa.
Mukungunugwa told The Midweek Watch that he was very excited and grateful for the support he is getting from the President on many projects that have been done in Chivi North in particular.
He said this has seen many villagers getting clean drinking water through drilling of boreholes, rehabilitation of roads and irrigation schemes aimed at empowering communities.

Also in attendance was Munyaradzi Machacha the principal director at Chitepo School of Ideology, Paul Mangwana a Politiburo member, provincial, district executive members among others.
