MIDLANDS -TelOne FC aka WiFi Boys has bounced back into the Castle Lager Premier League in style with a game to spare in the ZIFA Central Region Soccer league.
The WiFi Boys drubbed MSU FC 5-0 over the weekend to be guaranteed of the top spots in the Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance sponsored league.
They needed to secure a point in their game against MSU FC however, they lived up to the occasions and played like champions pumping five behind the net without reply from the students.
The result means that they now top the table with 61 points six ahead of Tongogara FC who despite winning 2-1 against FC Platinum U19 won’t secure the title with a single game remaining.
The WiFi Boys missed out last season to fellow Gweru based Sheasham FC and they made it clear that from the beginning of the season that their mission was promotion into the elite league.
From 25 games played they have 19 wins, four draws and two defeats with Tongogara the only undefeated side in the league.
The Tendai Chikuni coached side will follow Mutare based prison side Tenax FC who were also promoted from the unbranded ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League.
