MASVINGO-Tenax FC and FC Wangu Mazodze will headline the ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League (ERSL) match day 28 at Showgrounds in a potentially thrilling encounter between the two teams in a battle of the only cities in the region.
It’s do-or-die for FC Wangu Mazodze as they have to win this encounter at all cost to enhance their chances of gaining promotion.
The log leaders make their last trip of the season to Mutare seeking to end the season in the top spot.
FC Wangu Mazodze is leading the pack with a total of 55 points from 25 matches. They have won a total of 16 matches, drew 7 and lost twice.
Following closely is stubborn Bikita Minerals FC who are 2 points shy of Mazodze.
Chimanimani side Rusitu Tigers FC are third with 51 points while Tenax FC who started the 2023 campaign well are fourth with 50 points.
The army side and former PSL side Buffaloes are fifth with a total of 45 points.
The teams are only left with two rounds of matches before calling it a day.
Mazodze are left with a home game against city rivals Masvingo United FC before a trip to struggling Renco Mine FC
Bikita Minerals will host Midway at Lithium stadium before going to Ruwa for a date with Grayham FC.
Rusitu Tigers FC will be away to Mutare City Rovers before a bye.
Tenax FC will be hosted by Manica Diamonds Under-19 FC before hosting JM Busha 54 FC.
However, all eyes will be on Saturday’s game at Showgrounds.
