Masvingo – Silveira High School has commissioned new hostel and dining hall, at a colourful ceremony presided over by Masvingo Diocese Bishop Raymond Mupandasekwa.
The commissioning was combined with the celebrations of the school’s outstanding 2023 academic achievements where the Bikita District based Roman Catholic Church run institution scored 100% pass rate at ZIMSEC examinations.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the guest of honour and Director of Paza Buster and Autoworld Zimbabwe, Nyaradzo Chenjerayi, a former student of Silveira, commended the school’s commitment to educational excellence and its role in shaping responsible adults.
“The new infrastructure development demonstrates the school’s dedication to Education 5.0 and Vision 2030. I want to thank the Catholic Church, stakeholders, and everyone involved in the construction of the new structures,” said Chenjerayi.
Masvingo Provincial Education Director representative, Petronella Nyangwe, applauded the school for leading the way in heritage-based education, recognizing talents in culture and customs, and embracing the new curriculum.
She emphasized that the focus on “STEM education, design, and technology will produce responsible and impactful leaders”.
Silveira head, Stanley Mutsambiwa, attributed the new facilities to the dedication and hard work of the responsible authorities, parents and guardians, management, staff, and students.

The new block, accommodating 86 pupils, was made possible through collaboration between ZB Bank, CBZ, the responsible authority, parents, and other stakeholders.
