MBERENGWA-Zanu PF candidate for Mberengwa Central Constituency and flamboyant businessman, Tinashe Shumba hosted a colourful campaign launch rally at Danga Business Centre which was attended by thousands of supporters and senior party officials.
Mberengwa district initially had four constituency but after the delimitation they were reduced to three as Mberengwa North was dismantled.
Mberengwa Central which Shumba a Zanu PF Central Committee member is eyeing has 13 wards and 30 963 registered voters.
“The whole of Mberengwa Central Constituency support Zanu PF. They know Zanu PF is a people’s party that has their interests at heart. We are familiarising ourselves with the people after delimitation so that we educate them on who to vote for and where they their polling stations are found.
“I am promising together with Mberengwa Central people that our President will get 6million votes. Where ever we go we have our President ‘s 2030 Vision mantra of leaving no place and no one behind.
“A lot was done under the new dispensation in the rural areas; drilling of boreholes, irrigation schemes, building of big dams and construction of roads. Other projects have already been completed and people can testify that H.E Cde E.D. Mnangagwa is doing wonders in the Second Republic,” said Shumba.
The rally was attended by all Zanu PF party wings where the Midlands Province secretary for security, Owen Mudha Ncube was the guest of honor.
Acting Mberengwa Rural District Council chief executive officer, Percy Mwedzi told the gathering that Shumba donated 10 000litres of fuel for road maintenance, funded drilling of 3 boreholes and completed various projects in Mberengwa Central including teacher’s cottages and blocks at clinics around the constituency.
Shumba is a business tycoon with about 8 fuel service stations across the country three of them in Mberengwa District.
Hi fuel stations have played a major role in easing shortages in the vast district especially at Yorks Business Centre, Mberengwa Centre and Mberengwa Turn Off.
Shumba is also a miner and hotelier with lodges across the districts.
