MASVINGO-Shine Shine Soccer Academy will mark the upcoming public holiday through sport when they host a friendly match against Duma Sporting Academy on the 21st of February 2026 at Mucheke B Ground A.
The event will feature girls soccer and boys soccer matches, with competitions lined up for boys U15 and U20.
Speaking ahead of the matches, Shine Shine Academy coach Takaendesa Mavesere said the event is aimed at celebrating youth participation in sport while strengthening relationships with fellow academies.
“We are celebrating the public holiday in our own style as youths in sport while interacting with our colleagues from Bikita District and also welcoming new players from various areas such as Renco Mine,” said Mavesere.
He added that the friendly matches form part of the academy’s preparations for the upcoming competitive season, as the girls gear up for the D1 season while the boys prepare for the D2 season.
Mavesere said the matches will also serve as a talent identification platform, particularly for new and aspiring players hoping to join the club.
“We are inviting all partners, friends and the community at large to come and grace the event. New players are also welcome as this is their chance to showcase their talent and join the best women’s football club in the province,” he said.
The friendly encounter between Shine Shine Academy and Duma Sporting Academy is expected to draw football lovers from Masvingo at the same time promoting unity, youth development and grassroots football growth.
