GUTU – Murambinda-based technology and infrastructure company Sawcan Enterprise has installed modern digital learning equipment at Gutu High School as part of a smart classroom project aimed at enhancing technology-driven education.

The project covers two classroom blocks, with 14 classrooms, each designed to accommodate 48 students and to be equipped in the same way.
The smart classrooms, which are awaiting official commissioning, have been equipped with digital learning gadgets and security systems designed to support modern teaching and learning methods.
Speaking about the project, Sawcan Enterprise director Artwell Svova said the company was responsible for installing the technology and related infrastructure that will enable learners and teachers to benefit from a digital learning environment.

Svova said special attention was given to both functionality and security, with custom-made tables designed to accommodate the digital devices used in the classrooms.
“The tables were specifically designed for the smart classrooms and are tailor-made to support the equipment installed in the facilities,” he said.
He added that the devices are protected through geofencing technology, which can detect and report when equipment is removed from designated areas without authorisation.
“The gadgets are protected through a geofencing system. If a device is taken out of the classroom or stolen, the system is able to detect and report it,” said Svova.

He said the technology was intended to address concerns over the security of digital equipment while ensuring that schools can confidently embrace technology-based learning.
The smart classrooms are expected to provide learners with greater access to digital educational resources and create an interactive learning environment aligned with Zimbabwe’s drive towards innovation and technology in education.
Svova said Sawcan Enterprise continues to provide smart classroom installation services and other technology solutions from its base in Murambinda, with services available to schools and institutions upon request.
As schools increasingly adopt digital learning tools, projects such as the one at Gutu High School are expected to play a key role in preparing learners for a technology-driven future while improving access to modern educational resources.
