MIDLANDS -With only three games played this season the Ruvimbo Funeral ZIFA Central Region Division 1 Soccer League is already making waves in the football circus for different reasons.
Sheasham FC who were relegated from the Premier Soccer League last season are still yet to win a game which has come as a shocker as they are deemed to be one of the title contenders.
They have three draws from three matches and are on position 10 on the log though it’s early days.
The Construction Boys made a revamp to their squad under Lizwe Sweswe but the project is still to show any fruits.
Chapungu who are also perennial campaigners in the league have shown their early intent to win the title as they are currently at the summit of the table with seven points from three games, they are ahead of Dulibadzimu FC who have the same points on goal difference.
West Nicholson FC have become the surprise package of the season as they also have seven points and yet to taste defeat with other newcomers like Black Eagles and Beitbridge FC yet to register a point in the league.
Tongogara are doing well as they have two wins in two games as they had a game against Amazon FC postponed.
The revamped 18 team will see the so called big boys having to work a lot harder to get the sole ticket into the Premier league as the competition is hotting up.
They are seeking to avoid the scenario of just gaining promotion and get relegated which has seen the Central Region being one of the least represented Region in the league with two teams, in FC Platinum and TelOne FC.
