 Rutenga’s Foundation ECD hosts prize giving day

Foundation ECD Centre at Rutenga Growth Point hosted a colourful speech and prize giving day on 29 November.

Scores of people from across Mwenezi District gathered for the event which was marked by captivating presentations from Foundation learners.

 Outstanding learners were recognized for their sterling performance in various disciplines.

The Guest of Honor, Mwenezi Rural District Council, Chief Executive Officer Albert Chivanga hailed Foundation ECD Center for scoring a first by organizing such a remarkable event regardless of the harsh economic climate which educational institutions are operating under.

“l would like to congratulate Foundation ECD Center for organizing this special event which gives us a platform to look back and cherish the achievements which were done by learners, teachers and parents in the year 2024” implored Chivanga.

He commented the zeal for growth which the director of Foundation ECD Center Faith Baloyi has, as witnessed by a modern, state of the art Foundation teaching and learning facility which is currently under construction at Rutenga Growth Point, in Rutenga Extension Suburb popularly known as Kumhiri kwenjanji.

“l would like to salute the directors of Foundation for taking the bull by the horns as they have already started constructing their own school which is already registered. I encourage Foundation to think beyond ECD and venture into a full infant school which operates up to grade two” added Chivanga.

The Foundation ECD Center under construction is bound to change the face of Rutenga as it brings a modern teaching and learning environment inclusive of indoor games and modern outdoor games such as swimming.

Mwenezi District Schools Inspector, Shepherd Mapara speaking at the event saluted the directors, teachers and parents of Foundation ECD Center for recognizing excellence in the educational fraternity.

“l would like to thank Foundation ECD Center for leading the way. We expect every school to organize an event of this nature during the third term in order to appreciate and reward the outstanding players in various disciplines, be it in academic or co-curricular activities.” shared Mapara.

 “It is not only learners and teachers who deserve to be acknowledged, but everyone who would have made an outstanding contribution to the welfare of the school, for instance a parent who pays school fees in time,” hinted the DSI.

Baloyi thanked all the people who gathered for the event. “l am grateful to everyone who has blessed this occasion….our parents you matter most  Thank you for your unwavering support,” acknowledged Baloyi.

Nei Makoti of the ECD B class was adjudged the best in Maths, while Mukai Felistus ECD B was rewarded for being the best English speaker and good hand writing. Kunashe Mugwagwa was recognized for being the most attentive and overall academic performer. Nenyasha Muneri scooped the prize for being the best in Maths and Science in the ECD A class .
