Just in! Former Zimuto High head Dauramanzi dies

Masvingo-Veteran educationist and former Zimuto High School head, Posta Naftali Dauramanzi, has died.
He was 90.
Dauramanzi passed away at 4am on Thursday (today) at his son’s homestead in Mazowe. His long-time friend, Jacob Chademana, confirmed that Dauramanzi succumbed to complications from a hip injury sustained in an accident four years ago.
A trailblazer in Zimbabwe’s education sector, Dauramanzi was the first black principal at Alheit High School in Gutu. He held a Master’s degree from the University of the North in Pretoria, South Africa.
Dauramanzi had a distinguished career in education, serving as headmaster at Makumbe High School, Chibi High School, and Zimuto High School. He was also the education secretary for Reformed Church schools in Masvingo and at one time served as national treasurer of the Zimbabwe Teachers Association (ZIMTA).
He played a pivotal role in the formation of Reformed Church University and was the first Zimbabwe High Court assessor in Masvingo. Dauramanzi was also a war collaborator.
Burial arrangements are yet to be made public.
He is survived by four children, three girls and one boy. His wife passed away 30 years ago.
