MWENEZI-All roads lead to Rutenga Growth Point in Mwenezi this weekend for a historic talent identification boxing tournament.
The Masvingo Provincial Boxing Tournament will be held this weekend on July 29 and 30 for upcoming talents.
The tournament will see talents from as far as Triangle, Mwenezi, Hippo Valley, Lundi, Jerera, Mkwasine, Mutonhori and all other Masvingo Province Boxing Clubs coming together to showcase the best they have to offer which will also be a great opportunity for them to be seen by potential sponsors and influential people.
Boxing is one of the biggest games that Masvingo prides itself about having groomed champions like Charles Manyuchi, a former WBC Silver Welterweight title holder.
According to the poster published by the facilitators, this tournament will take place at Rutendo Boxing Club at Rutenga Community Hall opposite Rutenga Clinic and ticket prices will be as follows; kids $1/R20, adults $3/R50 and VIP on the ringside $5/R100.
The doors will be opened from 10am on July 29 until close of business on July 30.
Rutenga is located about 125 kilometres south of Masvingo and 135 kilometres north of Beit Bridge along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway in Mwenezi District.
