Masvingo-Rujeko Secondary School former deputy head Douglas Marshall Zizhou has died.

Zizhou died at Masvingo Provincial Hospital on Saturday after suffering a massive stroke on Thursday his sister, Sitembiso Zizhou confirmed.
He was 40.
Zizhou was born in Harare later relocated to Masvingo. He went to Shiri Yedenga Primary School and Churchhill Boys High.
“Douglas was very intelligent, he went to the University of Zimbabwe where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. God blessed him and became a teacher and taught his favorite subject, mathematics at Rujeko Secondary School, he was also a hustler and a hard worker known in Masvingo for supplying fresh milk and eggs,” said Sitembiso.
Vaida Chuma who worked with him at the new Rujeko satellite school said they were shocked to learn of Zizhou’s death.
“”His death came as big shock to the education fraternity in Masvingo, he was humble, easy going man, he was my right hand person at Rujeko Secondary and the gap he has left will be difficult to fill.
“Zizhou would easily fit in any situation and has been at the forefront of the construction of Rujeko Secondary.
“He was a great sportsman and went to school through cricket scholarships,” added a distraught Chuma.
Zizhou’s body will be taken to his house in Chesvingo, Mucheke near the ZRP Base and will be laid to rest at Lawn Cemetery on Monday.

“The death of Zizhou was unexpected as he was not sick at all, only to hear that he has died, he was a great sportsman and last year he led a team of students to Victoria Falls and we assigned him that role because of his good leadership qualities, we will miss him,” said Masvingo Provincial Schools Inspector responsible for physical education Frederick Matavikwa in a telephone interview with The Midweek Watch.
