Rujeko Sec loses US$400 to MSU intern

A Midlands State University student, Wellington Chikani (21) has allegedly stolen $398 from Council run Rujeko Secondary School in Masvingo City, where he was working as an accountant intern.

The incident occurred on April 11 at around 1020 hours according to a police memo in possession of The Midweek Watch.

Chikani of 15629 Sarah Makuyana Street Chesvingi, allegedly receipted the cash amounting to US$398 but failed to submit it for banking, instead opting to steal the money and leave the premises.

When asked for confirmation Masvingo Province police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa said he had not received the report.

The headmaster of the school, Jack Leonard (47) of Hillside extension is the complainant and nothing has been recovered yet.
