Puma to open US$30m service stations countrywide

MASVINGO CITY-One of the biggest energy companies in the world, Puma has opened a state of the art service station in Masvingo City located in the industrial area and intend to invest US$30m in more facilities across the country.

The new Puma Service Station which was officially opened on Thursday, becomes the second one in the ancient city after the other one situated in the CBD near ZIMRE Building.

The new service station is unique as it shares the same premise with world class fast food outlet, USA domiciled, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), giving customers the opportunity to enjoy some of the best prepared foods.

There is enough space for parking and a drive in for those who want to buy fast food on the go as well as a convenience shop with modern showers and toilets.

The place is manned by well trained and friendly personnel who have been in the fuel industry for a long time.

Besides fuel Puma services now include lubricants that provides anti-wear protection, oxidation resistance and anti-foam performance.

Puma Zimbabwe general manager, Donatien Kodog said, “Today we celebrate the commissioning of our second retail services station in Masvingo.

“This site is a notable addition to our network of 50 Retail sites across Zimbabwe, of which 6 are along the Masvingo highway up to Beitbridge and this site has become the 7th site showing the level of commitment that Puma Energy has in Zimbabwe.”

He went on to acknowledge how Puma Energy is committed towards investing in the country, positively impacting and energizing the communities they serve in, this include creating employment opportunities, contributing towards economic development and building social beneficial partnerships.

Kodog stated that Puma Energy Zimbabwe is grateful to their partner and property developer Pidious Shumba for constructing a safe and modern flagship retail site, complete with a food outlet and convenience store.

“We are grateful to KFC Zimbabwe for their on-going partnership with Puma Energy Zimbabwe and for investing alongside us here in Masvingo,” said Kodog.

Guest of honour Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira said that he is thankful to the government for the strong support on investments and particularly Masvingo City Council for the provision of land in such a beautiful location and Puma Energy for choosing Masvingo Province as an investment destination.

Minister Chadzamira highlighted that, “Puma Energy has set a target to contribute US$5.2billion to the National GDP by 2030 and it’s economic strategy is founded on fully liberating available opportunities in the 3 key sectors, agriculture, mining and tourism.

“Each sector depends on the supply of diesel, petrol and lubricants.

“Puma company has promoted employment, it’s their first time building a state of the art service station complex in Masvingo.”
