Gweru-Newly promoted Sheasham FC aka Construction Boys risk being docked points if they fail to fulfill their Castle Lager Premier League match against Caps Utd at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane this weekend.

The Construction Boys have vowed not travel to Mandava in protest over the PSL’s decision to move the game from their home ground Bata Stadium in Gweru which was approved by ZIFA recently and went on successfully host Bosso.

Bata Stadium, is currently under final renovations, but was given the green light by the ZIFA First  Instance Board  to host matches as it met the minimum requirements expected for a match venue.

Sheasham Coach John Nyikadzino said his side was not distracted by the off-field drama.

Club chairman, Reginald Chidawanyika said they wrote to the PSL competitions manager,  Elisha Mandireva advising him that they had no plans to travel to Zvishavane for their match against former log leaders Caps Utd.

“They acknowledged that they are wrong but are trying to persuade us to comply with the directive. So far Kennedy Ndebele has been pleading with us and Xolisani Gwesela has been mediating but I asked for a written response from them but nothing has come through.

“We wrote to PSL competitions manager advising him that we are not going to Mandava Stadium,” Chidawanyika said.

Meanwhile PSL spokesperson,  Kudzai Bare warned the club will face disciplinary action if they don’t fulfill their fixture as ordered.

“At this point, we will be guided by the constitution, it is clear that there are processes we follow when a team does not fulfil a fixture.

“Order 18.1 and 18.2 of the PSL’s Standing Orders and Rules states that: “Every club shall be obliged to honour every league fixture as directed by the League General Secretariat.

“Any club without just cause that fails to fulfil its fixture obligation in respect of any league match on the appointed date or dates shall be deemed guilty of bringing the game of football into disrepute and shall be subject to a Disciplinary hearing,” reads the Constitution.
