America always rants of democracy, human rights, freedom of assembly and speech, free trade, etc. All these are now factually proving to be ” manipulation theories.”
Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, and brought up the second world war in 1939; when he invaded Poland. He accused it of systematically eliminating Prussians. The German people rallied behind him because of the Ministry of Propaganda which was manned by Dr Josef Goebbels. He emphasised much on the ‘Aryan” race, pure German breed. In actual fact he hated the Jewish.
In November 2024, Donald Trump became the president elect of the U.S. He promised the electorate to bring peace and flush out ‘cat eating Haitians’ (illegal immigrants). He promised American citizens ” forever wars ” will be curtailed. Its economy will be reverberating again. He recalibrated the Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE), into something specifically to deal with illegal immigrants. The unit is just as good as the Storm Troopers (SS) police of Hitler. It instills fear, it is cheeky, uncouth, morally-degraded and dangerous.
‘Promises and Lies’ is a song recorded by a British reggae outfit in the late 1980s or early 90s. And it fits squarely on what Donald Trump is doing today. As a scholar of enlightenment, I will quote every stanza and critique it.
“All the sorrow and the pain,
All the sacrifice in vain
I was much blind to see
You make a looser out of me,”
As Josef Goebbels, Minister for Popular Enlightenment and Propaganda or simply the Propaganda Ministry said” We didn’t lose the war because our artillery gave out,” he said of the defeat in 1918, ‘ but because the weapons of our mind didn’t fire.” Goebbels says, ” a lie repeatedly told becomes the truth, repeat, repeat, repeat.”
When America repeatedly tells us about human rights and democracy, we took the theories line, sinker and hooker. All the sorrow and pain of the slave trade and Berlin conference of 1884/85 were quickly forgotten. The pan-Africanism was quashed away as another symbol of communism and extremism. The chapter was regarded as deeply bend on division and archaic. African leaders became pawns on pleasing and fulfilling the American dream of human rights and democracy.
They were made losers again, all blind to see, that the Grim Reaper is yet to strike again. Since 1963, France assassinated 22 African presidents; America contributed much pain and suffering since 1945; Britain was a little bit human since 1963, but America in the name of brotherhood arm twisted it to share intelligence that disrupted the African continent. So, Africa is always a loser.

Whilst America sang its serpent song of democracy, human rights, free trade and African leaders initiating structural adjustments programs, laying of its workers, cutting down on health budgets etc; through the advice of the Bretton Woods institutions. African cities became losing their glamours, and poverty crept in once again. The rest is history. Now Africa still has nowhere to go; China, Russia, France, Germany, Britain, America and Africa. Best brains of Africa today are swallowed by the sea, they see nothing good about the continent.

Promises of free trade were replaced by American tariffs, firstly targeting China, Russia, Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, South Africa and some so-called rogue third world countries like Zimbabwe, Colombia and Brics inclined countries. Instead of free trade, it became exclusionary on the basis of who pays the piper.

When D. Trump first disenabled the Venezuelan president Maduro, without much obstacles. He set his binoculars to so far away lands. His first ports of call were Greenland and Canada, due to some backlash from the European Economic Community, he caved in. Then he chose Venezuela, sooner he was dictating what needs to be done to restore democracy in the country. Democracy, democracy, the word they use when they need you.
Quickly he choked Cuba of its oil supply from Venezuela as he is now the King of Caracas. One big mistake he made was to attack Iran expecting the Venezuelan passivity. Some few weeks ago he had called his European Union allies ” sissies.” They never retaliated; with his hubris he thought everything was working. Iran is now teaching him how to behave. And now he is asking the same friends he thought he would never need for help. It’s a lie that Israel forced or manipulated America into this war. It was Trump’s wish to re-write history and become Alexander the Great.

The Roman Empire, the British Empire, The Greeks, Munhumutapa, The Zulu Empire etc were once great empires but are now gone. The American Empire is also meeting the same fate. But this one is self- inflicted, because it burnt all the bridges. Hitler did it but he had some powerful nations behind him like Japan and Italy. Last week Trump had an altercation with the Pope. Our late president Robert Mugabe, was once said by Tony Blair to be ” eccentric and not a pleasure to talk to.”
Tony Blair said the above when he was told blankly” to keep his Inglan, and let me keep my Zimbabwe. ” This was some way back in Sandton, Joburg, 2008 or thereabouts Sustainable Development Summit. We all know Bob and Tony’s relations those days. Tony reneged on the Lancaster House talks on funding land resettlement. But Bob respected Queen Elizabeth and the Pope. This MAGA, member- in- charge has to many fatal wounds to heal. He respects no boundaries.
