Prizes galore for Ruvimbo ZIFA CRSL top performers

MIDLANDS- The US$75 000 3 year sponsorship deal entered between Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance and ZIFA Central Region Soccer League is becoming exciting each day as the company has agreed to honor outstanding performers come year end.

The region has been wobbling without sponsorship for a very long time and the coming in of Ruvimbo has breathed life into the game as the teams have something to play for besides trophies and medals.

The league which has been rechristened Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League will see champions walking away with US$7 000.

The first runners up will receive US$3 000 and second runners up will get US$1 000 while the remaining 15 teams will get USD500 each.

The most disciplined team will get US$550 while the soccer star walks away with US$350 and runners up, first and second will get $250 and $200 respectively.

The goalkeeper of the year is set to pocket US$200 while the best coach gets US$350. The Referee of the year will get US$250 and the best 11 players will get US$150 each with the top goal scorer getting US$200.

The rewards are set to improve competition among the 14 participating teams.

The prize money breakdown were confirmed by the region’ s acting vice chairperson, Thomas Marambanyika who said the sponsorship is set to improve football in the region.

“Central Region soccer league signed a three year sponsorship deal with Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance Company, the deal is for three years with a total sponsorship package of USD$25 000 per season.

“Going forward the region is now branded as Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League. As a region we are very grateful for this sponsorship that we have just secured and it will go a long way to enhance competitiveness in the region.

“Previously we had no sponsor so they were no monetary rewards which has changed this season,” he said.
