President Mnangagwa’s advisor on investments, Paul Tungwarara disbursed $150,000 to seven affiliates in Masvingo Province on August 5 at the Showgrounds giving hope of economic revival for the natural resources endowed province.

The affiliates, each receiving funding ranging from $20,000 to $50,000, included Vapostori4ED $20, 000, Children of War Veterans4ED $50, 000, Cross-border traders4ED $20, 000, Hairdressers4ED $20, 000, Vendors4ED 20, 000, Nurses4ED $20, 000, Boys dzaMudhara4ED $20, 000, and Pastors4ED $20, 000.
The funding aims to empower these groups economically, promoting entrepreneurship so that they contribute to the province’s GDP.
Guided by President Mnangagwa’s vision, the initiative ensures no one and no place is left behind.

Each group received a personal message from the President, encouraging them to utilize the funding effectively and become business managers of tomorrow.
Dr. Tungwarara emphasized the President’s commitment to the people, stating, “This fund comes straight from the heart of His Excellency. He sees you, he hears your struggles, and he believes in your dreams.”
Tungwarara stated that the fund was intended to reach every individual within the groups and warned affiliate chairpersons against treating the funds as personal savings.
He added that if anyone lost the money, it would be their responsibility to replace it, ensuring the fund’s continuity for the next beneficiary.
Additionally, Tungwarara emphasized that there should be no registration fees for new affiliate members and no interest charged on borrowed funds, with the sole expectation being the repayment of the borrowed amount only.
Minister of State Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira, expressed gratitude to President Mnangagwa for his development initiatives, highlighting progress in health, education, road maintenance, and village business units.
The funding, which is interest-free, requires repayment only after the purchase of goods and services, this initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the economic upliftment of Masvingo Province, aligning with the country’s Vision 2030.
Minister Chadzamira advised affiliate leaders to open accounts to maintain accountability and transparency, enabling the tracking of development progress within the province.
Tungwarara also warned that those misusing the funds for personal gain would face arrest.
