ZVISHAVANE-The Premier Netball League (PNL) has taken a mid- season break until July 15 2023 to allow teams to recuperate at the same time beef up their squads for the second half of the season.
This development was confirmed to Midweek Sports by the chairperson of the Zimbabwe Premier Netball League. Sarudzai Chapo.
The league took a break after 18 games played with reigning champions at the summit of the table with 34 points courtesy of a superior goal difference against fierce rivals Ngezi who have the same number of points.
Chapo said the break is meant to make players rest as well as to allow clubs to beef up their squads in preparation for the second half of the season.
“We have taken a mid-season break after having played half of our games for the 2023 season. This is to allow players to get the much needed rest while teams have an opportunity to go shopping for new players to beef up their squads to give them depth which also enhances competition in the league,” she said.
