MUTARE-The Midweek Watch is reliably informed that Police has ordered the closure of all bars at Penhalonga following the murder of an artisanal miner on Tuesday night.
A 19 year old Penhalonga artisanal miner identified as Lovemore was found murdered at night on Tuesday along a roadside at Redwing Mine.
Sources told The Midweek Watch that Lovemore was stabbed to death by fellow imbibers during a fist fight over gold ore.
Efforts to get a comment from Manicaland Province Police spokesperson, Inspector Nobert Muzondo were fruitless as his mobile phone was not being answered until the time of posting the story.
Sources said heavily armed Police details have been deployed at Penhalonga and they have ordered the closure of all bars until further notice as they carry out investigations into the murder case.
The four suspects are still at large.
It is alleged that the deceased had stolen gold ore from the four suspects and when they questioned him about the matter an argument ensued leading to the stabbing of the deceased with an unknown object.
