Platinum Queens push for third straight title

ZVISHAVANEReigning Premier Netball League (PNL) champions, Platinum Queens are on the verge of clinching their third consecutive title after winning all four matches in Harare recently.

The wins mean they are now six points clear ahead of second-placed Green Fuel who still have three games in hand to play.

According to the weekend results, confirmed to this publication by PNL chairperson Sarudzai Chapo, the Zvishavane-based outfit beat Harare City 33 -14, Harare District 51-17, walloped Stormers 41-12 before finally trouncing Rhinos 29-14.

They sit top with 66 points from 34 games, having lost only once and 33 wins. Green Fuel has 60 points from 31 matches played so far.

Ngezi, who still have a game more to play sit on third position with 58 points. ZDF sit fourth with 54 points from 32 matches with Lupane at the bottom of the table who have a single point from 28 games.

Chapo said the games were played according to schedule and the competition is getting bigger for the betterment of the sport.

“All went well for the Harare and Marondera bubble, the games were exciting the competition is growing among the clubs hence bringing entertainment” she said.
