MILLICENT HUNGWE
Veteran politician and Chivi ward 1 career councillor Philip Dunira Hungwa aka PD’s daughter Dzanisai Chirenje nee Hungwe has died in Botswana where she was a teacher.
She was 50.
Her sister Comfort Hungwe confirmed that Dzanisai succumbed to breast cancer last Saturday, and is survived by her husband and four children.
At the time of her death, Dzanisai was a teacher at Buhlani Primary School in Botswana, where she touched lives of countless students and colleagues.
Her sister, Comfort Hungwe expressed shock and grief saying, “We are in pain, we never thought my sister would go so soon, may her soul rest in peace.”
Dzanisai went to Denga Primary School and for her secondary education she went to Chibi High School.
She was trained at Masvingo Teachers College and taught at Runyararo Primary up to 2007 and she left for Botswana that same year.
She was a member of St John Apostolic Church Of the Whole World in Botswana
Mollay Hungwe added that Dzanisai’s death has pained the Hungwe family and will forever be remembered for her kindness, dedication to duty, and love for the family.
Dzanisai Chirenje will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 9, at her homestead in Denga, under Headman Madhlangove, Chief Chivi.
