MILLICENT HUNGWE
PANGAEA Zimbabwe (PZ), in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, has donated two fully furnished cabins and a consignment of medicines to the Masvingo City Council, at Runyararo Clinic, on June 24.

The donation is aimed at supporting the ongoing Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) strategy to prevent the spread of HIV, The Midweek Watch has learnt.
Over the past one and a half years PZ has partnered with Masvingo City Council, nurses at Runyararo Clinic have been receiving training from PZ, equipping them with the necessary skills to implement the PrEP programme effectively.
The clinic will continue to apply this training in order to serve the local community.
Chief Environmental Health Officer, Suzanne Hazel Madamombe, expressed gratitude for the donation.
“We are happy to receive such support from our partner, PZ, the two furnished cabins and the supply of medicines will help strengthen our services.
“We are also pleased to announce that HIV prevention is no longer targeted at females only, men who wish to protect themselves are also welcome to join the programme,” she said.
She added that those enrolled in the programme receive an injection every three months four times a year to effectively prevent HIV infection.
Madamombe further encouraged those already on the HIV prevention programme to continue with their courses, adding that PZ and the Ministry of Health and Child Care have agreed to extend their support to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
“This partnership allows us to continue serving the community in the fight against HIV,” she added.
