ZVISHAVANE- The third edition of the Great Dyke Palawani Wellness Challenge has been slated for June 8 where the participants will take part in zumba dance, cycling and fun run beginning at 5:30am.

The challenge will run under the theme ‘your health is your wealth’ as it aims to give value to the Great Dyke miners health, community and environment.

The owner of Palawani Lake World Resort, Director of Ya FM and general manager of Buy Zimbabwe, Munyaradzi Hwengwere told The Midweek Watch that the wellness challenge has grown from hosting 50 participants and expecting hundreds of participants from the entire country this year.

“Palawani Resort is nestled in an area most known for its mining activities so we hold the challenge there to remind the Great Dyke miners in particular that workers must value health,” said Hwengwere.

He also said that there will be lots of prizes to be won by participants where Olympic champion, Elliot Mujaji will be coordinating the event which is becoming a permanent feature on the miners’ wellness calendar.

This event is sponsored by Cell Insurance, Yarutso, Pote Holdings and Plawn Motors

This wellness challenge is an annual event that is meant to promote awareness against drug, substance abuse and also promote physical fitness of families as they mingle and mix with others.

Entertainment for the zumba dance challenge will be provided by sungura artist God Moyo and MSU DJ as well as sungura Mambokadzi, Portia Muzorava.
