They say love is kind
Yet ours insinuates hatred
They say love does not lie
Yet ours is filled with deceit
They say love does not hate
Yet ours brings about toxicity
They say love brings happiness
Yet ours makes us so unhappy
They say love does not hurt
Yet ours influences aggression
They say love is working it out
Yet ours is breaking it off
They say love is beautiful
Yet ours is the ugliest of all
They say love is staying when it hurts
Yet ours is better when we’re apart
They say love grows with time
Yet ours is fading as the days go by
And at the end of if all
We might feel nothing at all
