MASVINGO — Zimbabwean musician Tinashe Maravanyika, known by his stage name Nashie Zim based in Canada, is promising Masvingo a memorable day when he takes to the stage at the much-anticipated Sunglasses & Serenity event on August 23 at Caravan Park.
A ladies only event, being hosted by Gianna Events, will run from 10am to 7pm under the theme of music, fashion and entertainment, with attendees encouraged to dress in all shades of purple.
Nashie Zim, who has been enjoying increased attention from music lovers across Zimbabwe, said he was looking forward to connecting with his Masvingo audience through a performance filled with energy and passion.
“I’m promising Masvingo a night to remember. Every time I step on stage, I want people to feel that connection, not just hear the music.
“On 23 August at Sunglasses & Serenity, I’m coming with energy, passion and a performance that represents how far we’ve come together,” he said.
The musician said the overwhelming support he has received from Zimbabweans, coupled with the growing reach of his music and the success of songs such as PAFEYA FEYA, had inspired him to give his fans an experience to remember.
“The love Zimbabwe has been showing me has been incredible, especially with the music reaching new audiences and the recent success of songs like PAFEYA FEYA.
“This show is my opportunity to give that energy back. I want everyone who comes out to leave feeling like they were part of something special,” Nashie Zim said.
He said audiences should expect a more mature and complete performance following his experiences performing in different cities.
“This time I’m bringing a more mature and complete Nashie Zim performance, I’ve been performing in different cities throughout this run, and with every show we’ve been learning, tightening the set and finding new ways to connect with the crowd,” he said.
“Masvingo can expect the big songs they already know, some surprises, and moments where the crowd becomes part of the performance. I don’t want it to feel like people are just watching me perform, I want us to experience the music together,” he said.
Nashie Zim will share the stage with Natasha Muz and Sly the Vocalist, while MC Lulu and Miss Candice will host the event.
The Sunglasses & Serenity experience is expected to entertain ladies, with organisers encouraging guests to come with cooler boxes.
Advance tickets are going for US$10, while tickets at the gate will cost US$15. VIP tickets are available for US$20, with tickets also available at Booties Pharmacy and through the ticket-buying option advertised by the organisers.
Nashie Zim said August 23 would ultimately be about creating a lasting memory with her fans.
“23 August is about energy, connection and creating a memory with Masvingo. Sunglasses & Serenity is going to be special,” he said.
