Zion Christian Church run Mutendi High School celebrated 40 years of providing quality education to the country and beyond.
The school which is under the armpit of ZCC which led by Bishop Dr. Nehemiah Mutendi officially celebrated its 40th anniversary on October 12, 2024.
The event was attended by esteemed guests including Bishop Mutendi, Masvingo Provincial Education Director Shylatte Mhike, Masvingo District Schools Inspector Ishmael Chigaba, Ambassador at large in the Americas and Europe Uebert Angel Mudzanire and Masvingo North MP Brian Mudhumi, celebrated the school’s achievements over the past four decades.
Patrick Mhuka, the General Manager and Principal Officer for Nyaradzo Life Assurance Company, delivered a heartfelt speech acknowledging the visionary leadership of the late Right Rev. Bishop Samuel Mutendi.
Mhuka commended the school’s consistent production of well-rounded individuals equipped to make a positive impact in society.
“Your remarkable dedication to education and community development is a testament to your father’s legacy, the late Right Rev. Bishop Samuel Mutendi,” said Mhuka.
The event recognized outstanding students with prize awards, encouraging those who did not receive prizes to continue working hard.
Mhuka expressed gratitude to Mutendi High School’s stakeholders for their tireless efforts in shaping young minds.
“ZCC is playing a crucial role in educating and developing the young minds. This is evidenced by the number of state of the art schools they have and are constructing throughout the country. Almost 1400 young gentlemen and ladies are being nurtured here. Much thanks to His Grace, Bishop Dr Nehemiah Mutendi and the Responsible Authority. May The Living God continue to bless this school and your legacy of educational excellence. Our presence here today as Nyaradzo Life and all other service providers is a testament to our commitment to supporting your growth,” added Mhuka.
Founded in 1984, Mutendi High School offers boarding facilities from Form 1 to 6, with over 800 students in boarding.
The school prioritizes holistic development, nurturing not only academic but also social and emotional growth.
Mhuka, who also serves as director and principal officer for Sahwira Money Transfer Agency, holds positions on the Boards of Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe and Shungu Dzevana Trust.
He is the current President of the Zimbabwe Association of Funeral Assurers (ZAFA) and Vice Chairman of Zimbabwe Insurance and Pensions Apex Council (ZIPAC).
