LADY SQUANDA
Sandra Muchaneta Gazi aka Lady Squanda (Queen of Zimdancehall) was born on the 23rd of November 1991and raised in the famous music town of Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe, by her grandmother after her mother’s passing. Inspired by Jamaican reggae artist Lady Saw, she began her journey around 2008 and made a breakthrough with Performance at Zim Sum Fest in 2011, Harare. Her loud, energetic voice and brave attitude quickly won over fans as she became one of the very few women to succeed in the local music scene. Ndinovhaira, her hit song cemented her a household name and over her career, she has put out several albums and won a hat-trick of awards for Best Zimbabwean Female Dancehall Artist in 2013, 2014, and 2016.

She has shared major concert stages with Jamaican reggae stars like Mavado, Demarco, and Turbulence. While she has faced public controversies and media gossip over the years, she remains highly respected for her raw talent and her ability to match her male peers in musical battles. Other popular songs include Ndinovhaira, Rudo raunondipa, Class yerudo, Hustler, Bhaisikopo, and Squanda Fire Ndini. Albums: Reality, Queen on Top, Squanda Pachigaro, 8 Bullets, and Ghetto Story. Squanda has also worked with Freeman, Nox Guni, Xtra Large, amongst others.

The (female beast) as of now has proved her dominance in Zimdancehall with local and international performances. Known for provocative lyrics and public disputes she has since got arrested in 2018 on allegations of armed robbery, been publicized for fights with fellow artists, including Ninja Lipsy and divorced from DJ Staera in 2013 then followed by publicized relationships.
Despite being controversial, she remains hugely influential and continues to release new music with a huge international tour line-up. Overally, her bold personality and unapologetic style have made her both admired and criticized, but undeniably central to Zimbabwe’s dancehall culture.
