MASVINGO – The Masvingo Residents’ Alliance (MURRA) has issued a statement on the recent arrest of Masvingo Town Clerk, Eng. Edward Mukaratirwa on allegations of corruption and abuse of office.
“As an association, we are deeply concerned about the potential impact of these allegations on our community. We call on all parties involved to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
“We will continue to monitor the situation closely and ensure that the interests of the residents of Masvingo are represented. We call on all parties involved to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance.” reads MURRA board statement.
Eng. Mukaratirwa appeared before Magistrate Fredrick Mkwananzi, facing charges of criminal abuse of office and fraud.
He was remanded to August 9 on $200 bail.
