Msv wheelchair tennis shines at Danhiko Games

The Masvingo Wheelchair Tennis Association players delivered an impressive performance at this year’s Danhiko Annual Paralympic Games held from the 18th to the 21st of September 2025 at the Danhiko Project in Masasa Harare.

Competing in both junior and senior categories for males and females, the association proudly represented Masvingo province in the wheelchair tennis events.

The games combined male and female juniors and seniors into single award categories.

Speaking to The Midweek Watch, Moses Chitombo the provincial chairperson of the Masvingo Wheelchair Tennis Association said, “the team secured first place in the junior category and second place in the senior category. Ad Mollen Mamvura was honored with the Outstanding Performance Award.”

“The Masvingo Wheelchair Tennis Association is proud to bring home these honors. Our players showed great dedication and spirit throughout the competition,” said Chitombo.

The Danhiko Annual Paralympic Games provide a platform for disabled to showcase their talents and compete at high levels.

This year’s event once again highlighted the strength and determination of disability sports in Zimbabwe, with Masvingo’s wheelchair tennis team standing out as a beacon of excellence.

In 2024 the team also participated in the prestigious games and the juniors clinched gold with the seniors settling for silver.
