Masvingo Rugby Association will tomorrow host a high energy 7s Rugby Tournament at Victoria High School with a double message of sport and awareness under the theme #WeAware #WeCare #PinkTober.

The event which kicks off at 10am brings together top teams including Great Zimbabwe University, Masvingo Select, Mahogany Bulls, Shabani Miners, Midlands State University, Mahogany Bashers and Kwekwe Sports.
Beyond the tackles and tries, the tournament is dedicated to raising awareness around breast cancer and mental health especially within sporting communities.
Speaking to The Midweek Watch, Sean Dziwire Chairman of Masvingo Select and co organiser of the tournament highlighted the broader impact of the event.
“This Masvingo 7s Rugby Tournament serves not only as a thrilling showcase of athletic talent but also as a powerful platform for mental health awareness. By bringing together teams, fans and communities, the event aims to break down stigma, encourage open conversations and highlight the importance of mental well being in sports and beyond,” he said.

“It is a reminder that strength isn’t just physical, it’s also found in seeking help, supporting one another and building resilience together.”
As rugby takes centre stage, organisers hope the event will leave a lasting message of health, unity and compassion within and beyond the sporting world.
