Masvingo City Council has officially launched its Service Delivery Charter, a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery across the municipality.

Guest of honour, Masvingo Province Director of Economic, Clever Chingwara, said the launch marks a key milestone in the city’s commitment to quality and citizen-focused service.
“This is an important program for all Masvingo residents as it aims to cultivate a culture of improved service delivery, accountability, and responsiveness,” said Chingwara.
He applauded Masvingo City for leading the way nationally, noting that in 2023 it was awarded first place among local authorities for excellence in service delivery. The charter outlines expected standards across key sectors including water supply, waste management, road maintenance, housing, and public health.
Chingwara emphasized that the move aligns with Vision 2030, a national development blueprint spearheaded by President Mnangagwa. He urged all stakeholders to work together in monitoring and planning city services to ensure sustainable, inclusive development.
“As a province, we are committed to implementing integrated and accountable governance. This Charter is a clear signal that Masvingo is moving in the right direction,” he added.
The event concluded with a call for continuous engagement between city officials, stakeholders, and residents to uphold and improve service delivery standards.
In attendance was the Mayor Cllr Aleck Tabe, Town Clerk Engineer Edward Mukaratirwa, senior council officials and other stakeholders.
