Motorcyclist, passenger cheat death in head on collision

KWEKWE-A motor cyclist who was carrying one passenger escaped death by a whisker after being hit by a motor vehicle which just turned right in front them at an intersection in Kwekwe.

The driver of the vehicle Chitambira Joe Takunda, (25) of Gaika Park Kwekwe was driving along Industrial Road opposite Ministry of Local Government Offices in Kwekwe, while Tafara Hove was cycling in the opposite direction with one passenger on the pillion.

Takunda suddenly turned right in front of Hove and hit her motor cycle, throwing Tafara Hove and her sister Tariro off.

As a result, Tafara and Tariro sustained serious injuries and they were taken to Kwekwe General Hospital for treatment.

Midlands Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko cautioned motorists and urged them to observe road regulations all the time.
