MASVINGO-The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education hosted the 2025 Joint Sector Review (JSR) in Harare, a two-day engagement aimed at evaluating progress made under the Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) 2021 to 2025.

The meeting brought together provincial education directors, ministry officials, development partners and key stakeholders to assess sector reforms such as the heritage-based curriculum, continuous assessment and the broader impact of investments in education.

Speaking to The Midweek Watch, Director of Communications and Advocacy in the Ministry, Taungana Ndoro said the review involved analysing performance reports, provincial updates, beneficiary feedback and presentations focusing on access, quality, equity and governance.

Ndoro added that the JSR is not only about reflecting on past achievements but also about shaping the future. Discussions are feeding into the formulation of the Education Sector Strategic Plan 2026–2030, with the goal of producing a shared, evidence-based understanding of challenges and opportunities in the sector.

The review concludes today in Harare, where the Global Education Monitoring Report will also be launched.
