MIDWEEK REPORTER
GUTU-President Mnangagwa’s nephew identified as Teddy Mnangagwa has been fingered in a bloody mining ownership dispute at Cheer Up 1 Mine trading as Mudzimundiringe Syndicate in Zoma, near Chartsworth in Gutu.

The Midweek is reliably informed that there was an exchange of fire at the mine on Saturday and today as some syndicate members wanted to gain entry of the mine after being allegedly elbowed out by one Paddington Musarurwa with assistance of Teddy Mnangagwa.
A close source said the mine was incorporated in 2008 and the syndicate consisted of Maidei Badza, Richmond Marufu, Boniface Mangwiro, Paddington Musarurwa and one late liberation war veteran.
The mine was said to have been employing lots of youths from the area but in June this year Paddington allegedly roped in Teddy and said he had ceded his rights to him.
Teddy allegedly went on to employ private heavily armed security guards who stopped other syndicate members from accessing the gold rich mine.
The guards are said to have fired shots at unarmed villagers and members of the syndicate resulting in serious injuries and the matter was reported to Gutu police under RRB 776981.
“All this noise started when there was an increase in the gold production at the mine recently. The CCTV has been disabled and today some cars that were passing by were attacked and the matter was reported to the police, we await the next move as the matter is very sensitive,” said the source on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.
