MBERENGWA – Log leaders Black Eagles FC will this Saturday face a stern test when they take on fire Mbesa FC in a top-of-the-table clash for the sole promotional ticket for the ZIFA Central Division One League at Education Stadium.
The two Mberengwa-based sides head into this encounter separated by a single point. Anti-riot Police side Black Eagles are on top of the log table with 38 points from 17 outings while Mbesa are second with 37 points having played a game more.
Both teams have been enjoying a rich vein of form with Black Eagles dismissing 13 Stars FC1-0 in their last match while Mbesa thrashed Jemice Academy FC 3-0.
Mbesa will be seeking revenge in this encounter as they suffered a 1-0 loss in the reverse fixture and a win will see them top the table.
However, the two teams will be watching closely the fixture between third-placed Chachacha FC and Mvuma Stars as a win will see Chachacha shoot to 39 points and dislodge one of the two teams that will face each other.
Speaking to The Midweek Watch Black Eagles Team manager, Wilbert Zveshure said they are ready for the encounter.
“Morale is very high in the camp. We are eagerly waiting to eliminate Mbesa from the race. We will be missing the services of Phineas “Ziguru” Munyavi, Admire Musakwa and Tafadzwa “Xavi” Mateyo who are committed to work-related assignments, but we have able replacements. We have two injured players, Brilliant “Boris” Mafunga and Nobert “Major” Masunganye, but with a high possibility of passing a late fitness test,” he said.
