Jah Ray Zulu (18) from Mberengwa was recently arrested on allegations of murdering Kitso Manyause (24) in a love triangle that involved a 15 year old girl.
The incident happened on October 17, 2023, at Northwood Suburb in Mberengwa.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the arrest.
It is alleged that the now deceased, Manyause, who was a co-tenant with the accused, fell in love with a 15-year-old teenage girl who at the same time was seeing Zulu.
This did not go down well with Manyause who threatened Zulu with unspecified action.
On October 16, 2023 at around 11pm, Zulu went to the 15-year-old girl’s room armed with an okapi knife and spent the whole night there.
On 17 October 2023 at around 0455 hours Zulu met Manyause in the passage and an altercation ensued. Zulu withdrew a knife from his trousers’ pocket, stabbed Manyause twiceand fled. Manyause bled profusely and became unconscious.
ZRP Mberengwa attended the scene and found Manyause already dead. The suspect was arrested and the Manyause’s body is currently at Mberengwa Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
Inspector Mahoko urged teenagers to stop engaging in premature relationships as they always end in tears.
“We urge the girl child not to engage in premature sexual relationships as they usually have a bitter ending. We also appeal to members of the public to solve disputes amicably and to respect the sanctity of human life,” said Inspector Mahoko.
