Mavhusa dumps Una Una

Date:

One of the pillars of the province’s most supported football team, Masvingo United FC aka Una Una, Moses Mavhusa has called it quits.

Mavhusa announced his decision to leave Una Una as its executive chairman in a letter addressed to ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League last Friday.

Una Una plays in the ERSL Division One.

The letter is in the possession of The Midweek Watch and the veteran administrator did not disclose the reasons for quitting after serving as Una Una executive chairman for two consecutive seasons.

“May you please be advised that I have resigned as the club executive chairperson due to personal commitment”.

“I will always be available in support of our beautiful game and it was a pleasure working with you for the past two seasons,” reads the letter dated January 12, 2024.

That leaves Precious Jiri, who was the vice chairperson as the acting chair.

Una Una executive has Edwin Rafemoyo as the treasurer, Fidelis Nyahwai as the team manager and the team is coached by Gdofrey ‘Mai Mahofa’ Dondo.

“I would like to pay tribute to all those who played a role in ensuring that the team fulfilled all its fixtures despite having no particular sponsor since it is a community team.

“We worked as a team and sometimes it was difficult to raise money to fulfill fixtures, but everyone who had the team at heart made sure that they contribute something and we managed to complete the season well,” added Mavhusa.
