MASVINGO-Zanu PF provincial chairman who is the incumbent Zaka North MP, Rabson Mavhenyengwa has ditched the Constituency for a senatorial post.
Mavhenyengwa has been the MP for Zaka North Constituency for the past ten years.
He told The Midweek Watch that he is now contesting for the Zaka senatorial post so that others can fill in the vacant post.
“I am now contesting for the senatorial post in Zaka so that I give others an opportunity to contest for the Zaka North Constituency and this time around I am going to put my energy in campaigning for our presidential candidate, Cde E. D. Mnangagwa in the Province,” said Mavhenyengwa.
Mavhenyengwa and Angeline Chipato for the women’s quota are uncontested in Zaka District.
Nine people have thrown their hats in the ring for Zaka North seat and they are Maurice Chipato, Elias Makovere, J. Shenjere, Paradzai Chakona, Ophias Murambiwa, Conilious Ndanga, T Magodo, John Chikomo and Bornface Chivore.
