MASVINGO-In a milestone development in the cut throat entertainment industry in the ancient city, there is a new version of Admire Mushambi aka Mama Vee who has taken the ancient city by storm.

He is none other than the lanky 23year old Tapiwanashe Devedzano known by his stage name Mainyengmore Wezhira Wezheve who has taken the ancient city by storm from his base in Sisk area of Mucheke.
Mainyengmore’s journey in acting started when he was doing primary school at Nyanda and continued into secondary education at Mushandike High until he joined the business world as a retailer at Ngundu Halt until 2023 when he ventured into gold mining in Muzvezve, Kadoma.
Two months ago the talented actor decided to take up his favourite past time and produced a number of skits which he posted on Facebook and they quickly went viral.

“I used to act as a woman at school but recently when I saw that Mama Vee is doing very well while acting as a woman I decided to give it a trial and that is when I coined my own stage name in order to popularize my skits and personalize them.
“It did not take long before I had clocked over 10 000 followers in two weeks on FB and the rest is history. So far I only produce 3 to 10mins skits and I have had invitations from the likes of Mai Sarah, Ridiculous, Toby, Mama Vee and Senzeni Wezhira to do collaborations.
“These have helped me to put my name on the acting map and propelled me to where I am right now,” said the shy Mainyengmore from Buka, ward 9 in Village 15A under Chief Charumbira who is the fourth born in a family of three girls and two boys.
Mainyengmore is married and has a three year old daughter.
Why did he take a break from acting after school? The shy skit master said he was afraid of societal backlash as he risked being labelled a gay.
“As a young man and not a professional actor, I was very shy and afraid of societal backlash to act as a woman, but after watching Mama Vee and her strong character I decided to give it a go,” he said.
He leads a team of three actors and they produce their skits any time, any day at upon any request.
“We have no schedule for producing skits, we do that at any time and anywhere as long as we have the regalia, we can even produce five per day or none at all, but we are very flexible as we can also perform at any gathering,” added the promising actor.
Mainyengmore said his aim is to be a full time skit producer as they are easy and can be produced in real time.
