Mapeza promises fireworks as Platso date Ngezi

ZVISHAVANE – FC Platinum coach, Norman Muchina Wemajuzi Mapeza said that everything in place for the much anticipated clash against fellow moneybags, Ngezi Platinum Stars FC this Saturday at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro Ngezi.

Mapeza said his boys are hungry for success as they are ready to run away with the league title and the best way to show their intention is by beating the reigning champions before their supporters.

 “It’s a going to be a difficult game but we have done our homework and it’s all about mental strength. We don’t look much into statistics, we will go there with a positive mind, we are going there to get maximum points,” said the interim national team coach during a press conference this morning in Zvishavane.

The two teams had a contrasting start to the new season as FC Platinum beat new boys Chegutu Pirates FC by a solitary goal from Juan Mutudza while Madamburo drew nil all against new boys Arenel Movers FC.

However, they will be confident as they clinched a 2-0 in the same fixture last season when Ngezi was at home.

FC Platinum have an edge over their opponents in the head to head since 2018 as they played eight matches and FC Platinum have won half of the games with only two defeats and two draws.

The two teams bolstered their squads heavily during the off season and a mouth watering encounter is expected between the two clubs.

Norman Mapeza of FC Platinum was appointed interim coach of the national team whilst Takesure Chiragwi is his first assistant.

FC Platinum will be missing forward Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya who has a fracture and he will be out for four weeks.
