Manhunt for Kwekwe US$134k fraudster

Kwekwe-Police has launched a manhunt for a Kadoma man for a spate of fraud cases amounting to US$134 000.

The suspect, Gerald Takunda Machimula (40) of Westview in Kadoma was employed by Harare based Geo Associates Pvt Ltd, with mining claims in and around the Midlands Province.

The suspect was the company’s representative in the Midlands Province and the matter came to light through a routine audit of the company books and records which unearthed the fraud as the suspect was pocketing all proceeds from the claims sales.

To hide his fraudulent activities, the suspect issued counterfeit receipts and certificates and disappeared.

Midlands Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko is appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect

“We are appealing to members of the public who may have information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect to approach CID Gweru or any nearest police station.” he said.
