In a case of domestic violence, police in Mabelreign have arrested a Tinashe Turamai (26), in connection with the brutal murder of his wife, Marita Nyamunda, aged 21 on August 11.
According to a statement issued by ZRP National Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, Turamai allegedly stabbed his wife twice on the stomach and neck with a kitchen knife following accusations of infidelity.
The attack is believed to have stemmed from suspicions that Nyamunda was engaged in an extramarital affair.
Commissioner Nyathi confirmed the arrest and said investigations into the matter are currently underway.
The murder has reignited calls for intensified awareness and action against gender-based violence, which continues to plague communities across the country.
