MBERENGWA-In a wild, wild west type of incident, a man from Mberengwa is battling for life at United Bulawayo Hospital after he was stabbed by a fellow patron for refusing to buy beer with his hard earned cash.
Rabson Ncube (47)’s life is hanging by a thread after he was stabbed by another patron at Neta Business Centre where he was enjoying himself after a hard day’s work for refusing to buy beer.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told The Midweek Watch that they are investigating a case of attempted murder that occurred on May 5, 2023 around 11am at Neta Business Centre in Mberengwa.
On May 6, 2023 and at around 7am, Ncube of Pumulani, Filabusi was found lying in agony on the ground with intestines protruding outside at the business centre by a passer-by.
Ncube told the Good Samaritan that he was stabbed by an unknown man with a knife after he refused to buy beer the previous night. Ncube was rushed to Mberengwa District Hospital and was further referred to United Bulawayo Hospital where he is admitted.
In an unrelated case, police is also investigating an incident where Obert Ndlovu (27) an artisanal miner from Shurugwi is battling for his life after he was struck with machete several times all over the body by a gang of seven men.
Ndlovu was drinking beer at a night club at Mkoba 6 Business Centre, Gweru on May 8, 2023 at about 2am after a misunderstanding with the seven men gang. As he was leaving the night club, the gang followed him and struck him with a machete.
They left him lying on the ground and bleeding. Ndlovu was seen by a passer-by who ferried him to Gweru Provincial Hospital where he is admitted.
“We are on the hunt for perpetrators of these two cases and we are calling for assistance from the public,” appealed Inspector Mahoko.
